What is Kidsolidate?

Kidsolidate is a recurring service that allows user to save and consolidate children’s artwork, awards, report cards, letters, school projects, cards, and other memorabilia (“Creations”) by creating print and digital magazines. Parents, relatives, friends and school teachers can request a pre-paid postage envelope, fill it with Creations, then mail us the envelope when full. We handle all of the scanning picture taking, and design work to create a digital and/or print magazine. Your magazines and individual magazine pages can be easily viewed or shared at any time. When will I receive my Creations envelope after setting up a magazine?
Generally, a Creations envelope will arrive within 3-4 business days after setting up a magazine or requesting a new envelope to replace a lost one.

Do I need to prepare my Creations before I place in the Creative Envelope?
No! All you need to do is put them in your Creations envelope. Your magazine will include each Creation, including the backside if appropriate. If there is a backside that has a drawing or other substantial writing (more than a date/name), you can place a large 'X' through the entire undesired side and we will not include that side in your magazine.

What kind of Creations can I send?
Kidsolidate handles anything that fits in your Creations envelope. School projects, 3D creations, photos, report cards, artwork, birthday/holiday cards, and awards are all examples of Creations Kidsolidate routinely handles.

Can I include digital images or photos in my magazines?
Yes you can. Just email info@kidsolidate.com the digital files you would like to include your magazine and we will include them. Each digital file will be counted as a Creations.

Are there restrictions on what I can send?
There are a few. First, your Creations must fit into the Creations Envelope so that the envelope can be closed. In addition, your envelope should weigh less than 13 ounces. For envelopes weighing more than 13 ounces, an additional $5 charge will be added to your order. Envelopes weighing more than 2 pounds will be charged an additional $5 per pound.

Can I choose the front or back cover?
Yes. Clearly mark "front cover" or "back cover" on the backside of a Creation by writing with pencil or affixing a note. If a Creation is not clearly marked for the front cover or the back cover, we will select one for you.

Can I select the order of my Creations in the magazine?
Creations that have a clearly identifiable order, such as stories, reports, and two sided documents, will be kept in order. If you want ALL of your Creations kept in the order you send them in, you need to select the Keep the order of my Creations option for your magazine in your edit magazine options. There is an additional $5 charge for this feature.

Can I create a separate magazine for each child?
Absolutely. You can setup as many magazines as you would like: one for each child, one for the whole family, one for a special gift, etc. For each magazine you'll receive a separate Creations envelope.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of Creations I can submit for each magazine?
Each magazine will include 32 pages. So you should include at least 32 Creations. If you submit less than 32 Creations, your magazine may contain duplicates of certain images. Any Creations envelope containing more than 72 images will be split into multiple magazines.

What if I have hundreds of pages of artwork, homework, awards, cards, etc.?
Our Creations envelope generally holds between 30 and 60 pieces. If you have more than this, we can send you a bulk order box. To request a bulk order contact us. For members, requesting a bulk order is free. For non-members, the standard deposit is charged.

What happens to my Creations after my magazine is made?
Your creations can be recycled, returned, or stored at Kidsolidate's facilities. By default, your Creations are recycled. You can change this option in the magazine configuration page. There is an additional charge for returning or storing your Creations.

Can I download individual Creations or an entire digital magazine?
Yes - you can download individual pages of the magazine or the entire magazine. These files are located in the Magazines area after you log in. These files are located in the Magazines area.

Can I share my digital magazine on social media or email?
Each page of your magazines can be shared by email or social media by using one of the buttons at the top right corner when viewing your magazine. Each magazine can be viewed in the Magazine area. At the time you share your content, the shared file will be viewable by anyone that has the link to your content.

How do I include captions in my magazine?
To include captions in your magazine, include captions on your specific Creations. You can do this by writing in pencil on the back or attaching an adhesive note to the Creations. Captions can be included for $0.50 per caption.

How do I change my membership?
Just contact us requesting to become a member or cancel your membership.

How do I place an order?
To receive your Creations envelope, setup a magazine in your Kidsolidate account and your Creations envelope will be mailed to you. Fill your Creations envelope and mail it back free of charge. For members, once we receive your Creations envelope, your next envelope will be sent automatically. For non-members, your next envelope can be sent by requesting a envelope from the Magazines page after logging into your account.

New users create an account and as part of the registration process setup their first magazine. You can also setup additional magazines. You'll receive a Creations envelope for each magazine. Mailing in your filled Creations envelope is all that you'll need to place an order.

Where can I mail my Creations envelope?
You can mail your Creations envelope from any US Post Office Box. No need to schedule a pick up or take your envelope a specific dropp-off location.

Can I cancel or change an order?
Cancellations and changes to an order can only be made within the first 12 hours of us receiving your Creations. You will receive an email notifying us when your Creations have been received. To cancel an order, contact us by logging into your account and selecting the Contact Us link.

All sales are final and we offer no refunds.

Can I order a reprint of a magazine?
Everyone can order reprints at a 35% discount from the original magazine's price by logging into your account and clicking “Reprint Mag” button from the “Magazines” page in your account.

What is your return policy?
Because our products are custom, all sales are final and we offer no refunds. There are no replacements unless there is a material defect with the magazine or the magazine is damaged.

Can I order a magazine for someone else?
Yes! You can have a magazine shipped to multiple people or send a previously created magazine to someone else using our reprint freaure.

How can I change my shipping address?
You can change your shipping address or add a new shipping address for yourself or other recipients of your magazine by logging into your account. You can manage your addresses by clicking on the Shipping Addresses link from your account. For each magazine, you can select to which address or addresses the magazine should be sent.

Can I ship magazines to multiple locations?
Yes. You can edit your shipping preferences for each magazine to have one or more magazines shipped to each of your configured shipping addresses. All changes to shipping destinations can be made by logging into your account.

When am I charged a membership fee?
Each month, members are charged either the price of an ordered magaze or the $3.99 membership fee. Members are never charged both fees in a given month.

How long until I receive my magazine?
The current turnaround time to receive your print magazine is 4-8 weeks after we receive your Creations envelope to our studio. It generally takes approximately 4-6 weeks after we receive your Creations envelope at our studio to create your digital magazine.

Do I need to approve a proof of my magazine?
No, we do all proofing for you. You have the option to make a few changes if you choose to review the proof. Proofing must be completed within 72 hours of receiving your proof. If you would like more proofing time, please let us know.

What types of proofing changes can I make?
You can make up to five minor changes on the proof that we send you. Examples of minor changes are the order of images within the magazine, change cover Creation, update magazine title, change color of cover, change images that are spreads. We cannot completely redesign the magazine after the proof is sent. If you would like to lay out your magazine in a specific order, please note as such when you send in your Creations and we will try and accommodate you.

How do I send along my proofing feedback?
You have 72 hours after the proof is uploaded to your account to review your magazine. If you have no changes, no need to do anything. If we don’t hear from you, we will consider the magazine approved and send it off to the printer.

  • Name of magazine
  • Proofing requests 1-5

How can I retrieve my stored physical Creations?
You can retreive your Creations simply by contacting us. You are responsible for the shipping and handling cost which will be emailed to you prior to being charged. As you may have a lifetime of Creations stored with us, we cannot estimate this cost as the cost until you request the Creations to be mailed back.

What happens to my stored Creations if I cancel my membership?
If you cancel your membership, you have the option of having your Creations recycled or mailed back to you at a charge based on the weight of your Creations. If after 3 months, you have not selected recycling your Creations or paid for mailing back your creations, Kidsolidate reserves the right to recycle of your stored creations.
